More than 1.8 million people have already fled South Sudan because the fighting, terror and violence in their home country is not calming down. According to the United Nations Refugee Agency and UNICEF, more than a million of them are children. When they flee, it’s long stretches and often takes them years in the most adverse circumstances until they finally arrive in Uganda at refugee camps such as the RhinoCamp. But here, too, their situation remains enormously difficult, far from a genuine childhood.
The people in the camps live in inhumane conditions and, according to studies, are currently among the poorest people in the world. In the overcrowded camps, it is often difficult to provide people with the most necessary things such as running water, sufficient food and necessary hygiene supplies. Children in particular suffer in this dreary state. By having an opportunity to attend school, they get a little relief from their situation. They depend on your help.
